CycleMAYnia: Promoting Bike Safety and Active Lifestyles in Santa Barbara

CycleMAYnia, a community event focused on promoting bike safety, active lifestyles, and the benefits of biking, is set to take place on Saturday, May 18 at De La Guerra Plaza in Santa Barbara. This event, organized by the City of Santa Barbara and MOVE Santa Barbara County, promises to be an exciting and informative day for all participants.

One of the highlights of CycleMAYnia is the opportunity for e-bike owners to have their bikes undergo safety checks. These thorough checks ensure that the bikes are in optimal working condition and ready for a day of enjoyable riding. Furthermore, participants can engage in a skills course where they can practice safe e-bike handling techniques. This course is suitable for both beginners and experienced riders, providing them with a chance to enhance their biking skills.

In order to promote safe interaction with traffic and explore the new bike and pedestrian infrastructure, a group e-bike ride will take place throughout the community. Led by experienced instructors, this 8.5-mile ride guarantees an enjoyable and educational experience for all participants.

To join the group ride and receive exciting giveaways, attendants must register in advance. E-bike riders aged 10 and above are welcome, provided they bring their own e-bikes and wear helmets. To register and complete all necessary pre-ride activities, please visit MoveSBCounty.org/Events.

CycleMAYnia is an integral part of the Santa Barbara County Association of Government’s efforts to encourage biking and advocate for safer cycling infrastructure. Through a combination of community events, workshops, and rides, CycleMAYnia aims to raise awareness about the benefits of biking and promote active and healthy lifestyles.

Do not miss out on this thrilling opportunity to become part of the CycleMAYnia community event. Mark your calendars for May 18 and head to De La Guerra Plaza for a day filled with fun, learning, and the promotion of bike safety in Santa Barbara.
