Atlanta, the bustling city notorious for its traffic congestion, has taken a groundbreaking step towards combatting climate change and embracing sustainable transportation. The launch of its revolutionary e-bike program marks a significant milestone in the city’s efforts to create a greener, more eco-friendly future.
Commencing this weekend at the highly anticipated ‘Atlanta Streets Alive’ event in downtown Atlanta, the program aims to inspire residents to make the switch from conventional vehicles to electric bicycles. By offering generous rebates ranging from $500 to $2,000, Atlanta hopes to incentivize individuals to adopt e-bikes as their primary means of transportation.
The rebate amount varies based on income level and the type of e-bike purchased. Low and moderate-income residents will be given priority for the program. Eligible participants can receive a rebate of $1,500 for a standard e-bike and an impressive $2,000 for a cargo e-bike. Other residents can benefit from a $500 rebate for a standard e-bike and $1,000 for a cargo e-bike.
To quality for the rebate, applicants must be 18 years or older and residents of the City of Atlanta. The rebates will be issued on a quarterly basis and can be redeemed at select retailers within the city.
