One of the highlights of the day was the unveiling of the Rockland Police Department’s latest addition to their fleet – an e-bike for patrols. Thanks to a 2023 Community Action Grant from the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and The Future, the department acquired this environmentally-friendly mode of transportation. Officer Peasley led a bike bus of 40 elementary students on a group ride to South School, providing a fun and safe experience for all involved.
Rockland Police Chief Tim Carroll expressed his enthusiasm for promoting active transportation, stating, “We’re excited to embrace this new e-bike as a department. It allows us to serve the community in innovative ways, and we look forward to participating in more events like Bike to Work and School Day.”
