The Jupiter Police Department is taking action this summer to address the growing concern of e-bike and e-moto riders breaking the rules of the road. With a focus on ensuring the safety of all residents, Chief of Police David England has initiated an e-bike safety campaign.

The department has conducted 32 e-bike traffic stops, resulting in 30 warnings and two traffic tickets during the first 30 days of their safety campaign. Additionally, the police department has encountered cases of modified e-bikes and e-motos that can reach speeds of up to 60mph. Chief England stressed that individuals who violate traffic laws can face fines ranging from $30 to $1,000, depending on the severity of the offense.
