Additionally, the EP5 is compatible with the Auto-Shift function, enabling seamless gear shifting based on the rider’s cadence, input, and motor support.

The EP5100, on the other hand, focuses on delivering a smooth and natural assistance platform for everyday e-biking. Weighing 2.4 kilograms and producing 50Nm of torque, this drive unit offers a more accessible option for riders. The EP5100, like its premium counterpart, can be customized using the E-Tube Project Cyclist app and is designed to bridge the gap between traditional cycling and pedal-assisted cycling. However, it is only compatible with internal hub gear drivetrains, unlike the EP5 system’s compatibility with both internal hub gears and traditional external derailleurs.

Both drive units feature compatibility with various brake types and are easily charged. While the EP5 is capable of providing assistance up to 28 mph in regions where regulations allow, it adheres to the 25 km/h (15 mph) maximum support speed typically enforced in the United Kingdom and the EU for e-bike classes.
